Every time you open a newspaper, a magazine or a book, you'll see some numbers and stats. They come from somewhere, may it be a national statistics office, an organization or an individual that has done a research. Statistics are a window on the evolution of the world around us. Yet results of polls and researches can be transformed by the smallest mistakes just as easily as it can be tainted by political or social factors.

Gasoline prices are climbing   and climbing. And that's not about to end, oil stocks will start declining in the coming years.You also probably heard in car advertisement that some cars are very efficient in their fuel consumption. Well, that’s a myth. Yet some solutions are emerging, so that the current raising generation may not have to pay a very hard price from the damages made to the environment in the past.

Supermarkets chains are fiercely  competing to get more customers . The current transformations in the food industry are lead by a few powerful companies looking to control of what ultimately lands on your plate. The extensive usage of pesticides, genetically modified crops and the general impoverishment of farmer is the new reality of this battle among food retailers to cut costs to get the most clients.

We have developed powerful antibiotics and overdosed our cattle with it. Why? Because so much cattle is packed in such small places that risks of transmitting illnesses from one animal to another is too great.  Now, bacteria are more resistant to antibiotics and scientists have established a link between resistance to human sickness. After all, we eat all that stuff! Why have we made that: big bucks.
