to work hard to get an costly MBA degree, all you have to do is to sit

And, oh yeah, you’ll need a bit of luck and patience…and a shovel.
Of course this isn’t about a moneymaking scheme. It’s about the lost
treasures of the world, or if you prefer: the science of archaeology. In
the long story of mankind, a lot of people have left behind rare objects
that can be discovered, some of which are now so precious that their
value is simply inestimable. And often, those treasures are easier to
find than you think. If you look around your house, you can find out
that your old clock or the old collection of coins you left in the
garage could possibly interest a collector willing to pay big bucks for
your old possessions.
Archaeology is the science aiming at studying and discovering artefacts
(old objects), so we can know more about our history. Even with today’s
advanced technology, there is still a lot of questions about our past
and archaeologists have the mission to unravel those mysteries;
ironically, imminent experts are often obliged to use some simple means
like shovels and buckets to conduct searches in ancient sites. There are
many ways of finding out precious artefacts around you: you can look
around your house or ask your relatives for old family souvenirs. Pay
attention when you take a hike in a forest or if you happen to be
digging. Depending on where you are in the world, you will find
different kinds of objects because, obviously, every region has its own
history. So check out the following tips, and who knows, you can find
something pricey and might never need to buy a lottery ticket ever
again.
If you live in North America, it is easy to inform yourself if
aboriginal people lived in your area. Your city must have started from
old foundations, so the first pioneers surely left some traces of their
passage around your town. If so, look around in your nearby forest for
some old rock-made fences, or any kind of structures that can survive
time (like a house’s foundations). If you spot any of those, you’re in
luck: if you’re patient enough, you can find old tools, cups or coins,
etc.
People living in Europe are blessed by the rich past life of their
ancestors. In deed, numerous empires left a lot of historical pieces all
over the place: Romans, Greeks, Vikings, etc marked the history of the
continent and today there are a lot of souvenirs that can be found. For
example, weapons of war and a lot of constructions like roads, forts,
habitations can be discovered even today, although there are often
covered by vegetation. People of Asia can count on an old civilization
that is known to be culturally rich. The long history of the people of
Mongolia, China and Japan is promising to anyone interesting in the
archaeology of that part of the world.
Of course, wherever you are, you can find fossils; which are the remains
of animals that are imprinted in rocks or straight in the earth. Good
places to look for fossils are around rivers and lakes, where a lot of
rocks can be found. Then again, the history of the prehistoric life
forms is easy to be found in books. You’ll learn that in different
regions, different kinds of fish, mammals and even dinosaurs can be
found. Also, some locations are more susceptible to have fossils
depending of their type: just make sure you know where to look for.
When you find something you think is valuable, go to your local antique
shop and get it evaluated. Don’t give up if they say it is worthless;
shop around to get your penny’s worth. Of course, you can get a good
idea at what your item may cost by looking into books or by consulting
experts at a museum or a university.
